Thanksgiving goodness

My sister and I have a tradition where every year we bake pies together the day before Thanksgiving, and it's always such a fun time for the both of us. For those of you who know my sister and I, we both tend to be more on the loud side, and we love to sing and dance. We always crank up the stereo and listen to music as we bake. My sister and I grew up listening to Dolly Parton and Alabama Christmas albums, but since my mom's passing, that music tends to make us sad. This year the CD of choice was Duck the Halls--yes, we definitely fall into the category of "those" people who are obsessed with Duck Dynasty. We totally can't help it. Rednecks are close to our hearts; we have the blood running through our veins. In all seriousness, we love Duck Dynasty, because they're our brothers and sisters in Christ. It's so cool to see people who are so famous spreading the love of Christ and the real reason for this holiday season. Not to mention they're hilarious!

After we were done baking pies, I decided at the last minute that I would dip some almonds in chocolate, put them in cute mason jars, and give them as a hostess gift for Thanksgiving. I had no idea what I was in for until I started doing it. Let me tell ya, that was an extremely tedious job! I ended up inviting one of my dear friends over to help me. Who knew dipping almonds in chocolate would be so tiring? Thankfully they turned out to be a huge hit, and so all the dipping I had to do was totally worth it.

Happy (late) Thanksgiving! Onto Christmas we go!
